Africa Road Transport Safety Summit and Exhibition (ARTSS EXPO)
DSSAA is launching the Africa Road Transport Safety Summit and Exhibition (ARTSS EXPO) as a major platform for road safety discussions and innovations. This annual event will bring together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to address Africa’s road safety challenges. The summit will feature:
• High-level panel discussions on transport policies and solutions.
• Exhibitions showcasing new road safety technologies.
• Training workshops for policymakers and transport professionals.
• Networking opportunities for stakeholders.
Through ARTSS EXPO, DSSAA seeks to influence policies, drive technological advancements, and foster collaborations that lead to safer roads across Africa.
Africa Safe School Volunteer Project (ASSVP)
The Africa Safe School Volunteer Project (ASSVP) is DSSAA’s community-driven initiative aimed at protecting schoolchildren from road accidents. DSSAA members will actively engage in:
• Volunteering as school traffic marshals to assist children in crossing roads safely.
• Installing STOP signs and zebra crossings at school intersections.
• Conducting road safety awareness programs in schools.
• Partnering with communities and authorities to advocate for safer school zones.
Africa Road Safety Partnerships and Research Board (ARSPARB)
DSSAA is establishing the Africa Road Safety Partnerships and Research Board (ARSPARB) to bridge the gap between research, policy, and implementation. This board will serve as:
• A hub for DSSAA’s collaboration with governments, universities, and development agencies on road safety interventions
• A research faculty studying road safety trends, driver behavior, and accident causes.
• A resource center for road safety data to guide policymakers and transport authorities.
• A platform for piloting projects and securing funding for road safety programs.
